What's up with operating system updates named after food? A string of recent Android updates were named Ice Cream, Gingerbread and Honeycomb. Now Windows is naming its phone operating system's new update Mango.
According to TGDaily, the update will include some major improvements from the last Windows Phone 7 upgrade. Live Agents, for example, will change how the phones integrate with push notifications, adding new functionality. At the same time, a Motion Sensor update will allow developers "to create augmented reality experiences," the news source adds.
Besides these two major changes, there are several technical modifications that will be included as well, allowing software developers to test out their programs on the smartphones that carry the Windows Phone 7 system.
Of course, the main concern here for some is whether Windows will stick to a fruity name trend. Here's hoping that Kiwi will be the next upgrade name - or maybe strawberry?
