Close [X]About Newegg: Newegg.com is an online e-commerce company offering more than 25,000 computer hardware and software, consumer electronics and communications products in stock at competitive prices and ready to ship at lightning-speed. Operating out of City of Industry, California, Newegg.com has become a online warehouse of computer parts and upgradable pieces that a do it your selfer might need to either upgrade his or her working computer, repair a faulty or ill working device, or bypass the retailer all together and build his or her own functioning computer. Newegg.com was founded in 2001 and began its life under the umbrella of the parent company ABS Computer Techonologies, which, as a computer systems micro center and integrator operated in the town of Whittier, California since 1991. ABS Computer Technologies needed a department or branch of the company that be able to handle the growing need for a parts distribution center as the company was, at the time, unable to tap into the growing clientele base that acted as their own computer construction companies. Consumers were asking ABS to produce and send specific parts rather than the entire working computer so that the consumer might repair or replace an existing machine themselves. ABS was unable to fulfill those requests and was therefore losing clients to other online retailers such as Fry’s, Tiger Direct, or ZipZoomFly or CDW. And so, as necessity is the mother of invention, a new era was ushered in and Newegg was born. The design and execution of ABS’ new baby was taken over then CEO and Founder Fred Change. Together with Vice Chairman of the board, Ken Lam he researched and developed the site that would open ABS Computer Technologies to a broader and more interested clientele. In 2005, Newegg.com had made the top of a list compiled by Retailer Magazine. It had posted a revenue in 2004 of just under a billion dollars and as such had ranked in the top ten of the Internet’s Top 10 Retailers. It was a success! 2005 brought even more success to the company with the sales growing to a whopping 1.3 billion dollars annually. Newegg.com is currently one of the highest rated online retailers according to ResellerRatings. 2008 brought the company’s listing on the Forbes Largest Private Companies List to #248. It’s annual revenue is estimated by those in the know at $1.5 billion and it is home to over 1500 employees. 200 saw the start of the monthly Case Mod Contest, sponsored and put on by Newegg.com. The contest was designed to have contestants submitting their ideas (in the forms of pictures, descriptions and directions) about the altering of their computers in regards to its appearance or functionality. Newegg.com also supports many functions in the gaming community such as tournaments for Counter-Strike, Warcraft III, and Rome: Total War. Although Newegg.com does charge a restocking fee for returned merchandise, it knows that customer service demands that there be exceptions to every rule. Those items that are returned due to defective parts or inadequate working order are accepted without the 15% restocking fee that is standard on other returns. Newegg.com knows how to take care of its customers and to keep them coming back to Newegg for all of their computing needs. In fact, the site has recently launched a community support forum known as EggXpert.com which is dedicated to the best of customer and technical support for all Newegg.com users. 07/17/11: Whether you own a laptop or a desktop, the maze of cords that are running behind your computer can be a huge waste of space and can make it tough to find anything that happens to fall down there. Since this is your work space and a place where you'd like to relax, it should be as streamlined as possible. There are a host of wireless peripherals on the market that may be a bit more expensive, but they will pay for themselves with their added utility.
A wireless mouse is an excellent purchase and something that everyone should have in their home. If you like to sit on the couch and surf the internet, it's much easier to do so with a wireless mouse. These products come with a small transponder that connects to a USB port and requires a small battery to operate. By paying a little extra, you can find a low-profile transponder so you won't have to worry about damaging your port.
Another great option is a wireless keyboard which can be found with just about every feature imaginable. If you have a computer synced with your television or simply just want to have a bit more freedom in your office, this is the way to go. Much like a wireless mouse, it will run on internal batteries and can attach to your USB port, so all you need to do is this quick process and you will be surfing with style in no time!
Wireless peripherals are some of the hottest electronic products on the market, and they will turn your home office or computer space into a futuristic setup. To save money on your next electronics purchase, look for a Newegg Promotion Code to get the best deal when you're buying online.
