B&H Photo Video is the largest solo photo and video products store in the U.S. The company was founded by Herman Schreiber and his wife Blimie (the company is named with their initials), in 1973 and was originally opened as a storefront in New York City's Lower East Side. The company quickly outgrew its space and moved to a large loft in the photo district of Manhattan in the 1970s. The company continued to grow and expand, eventually outgrowing its space again. In 1997, B&H moved to its current location in Midtown Manhattan. Their flagship store is a huge building at 9th Avenue and 34th Street.
