Cobra Electronics has developed a nifty way to end those annoying searches for lost items.

Everyone remembers times like these: you're late for work or some other engagement, and you've got your wallet, your purse and your phone. Now if only you could remember where you put your keys. Retracing your steps isn't working, and you're sure that you put them down someplace silly, but you can't picture where.

The Cobra PhoneTag is the first in what is sure to be a number of similar products. Using Bluetooth technology, a simple clip can be attached to your key ring. When the offending items have gone to the same place sock mates and loose change always disappear to, just turn on your smartphone. The Cobra PhoneTag app will e-mail you the GPS coordinates of the lost items.

This technology can also work in reverse. If you misplaced your phone, you can activate the PhoneTag clip and it will tell your phone to start making noises. It's perfect for when you don't have another phone to call your own with.
