About PacSun

PacSun (Pacific Sunwear) was established 3 decades ago, as a surfboard and surf wax shop located in a  surfside shack. Now they have expanded into selling t-shirts, swim suits, shorts, and other items for the surfing crowd. Twenty years ago they expanded outside of California and opened up shops on the East Coast. What started as one surf shop has grown into 859 Pacific Sunwear stores and 76 Pacific Sunwear outlet stores in 50 states and Puerto Rico. More recently, PacSun began selling items that appeal to the skateboarding community - boards, shoes, shorts, T-shirts, accessories, protective wear, and lots more. What started out as a shack for surfers to get the things they might need to keep their boards in shape or score those shades that might keep the harsh rays out from burning out the rods and cones of the American surfer has evolved to keep up with the changing passions of the community. After the invention of the Internet, the store had to broaden its horizons. These days, PacSun is branching out to the fashion world with a more fundamental appeal. Looking like a Hollister ad or something you might see on the pages of an American Eagle catalog, the website makes it clear that PacSun is catering to the modern teenager.  As with any product that is targeting a certain demographic, PacSun has produced a website that reflects its trendiness and its relevance within the teenage community by showcasing all the "must have items" for back to school, and for the high school and middle school life in general. Got PacSun coupons? There is a virtually endless list of brand names to shop from on PacSun's website. You can choose from names like: 44mm, Alpinesters, Ambiguous, Arbor, Archaic, Arnette, Beautiful Decay, Billabong, Bullhead, Coal, Corrupt, Dakine, Dc Shoes, Dcma Collective, Electric, Element, Ezekiel, Famous S/S, Fmf, Fox, Fox Delux, Future Favorites, Future Heretics, GRN Apple Tree, Heroes and Heathens, Hitman, Hostility, Hurley, Jack Bb Dakota, Junk Food, Kirra, Legendary Goods, Levi's Lost, Lucy Love, Matrix, Metal Mulish, Nike 6.0, Nixon, Mollie, O'Neill, O'Quinn, Ocean Minded, On the Bays, Picnic, Quicksilver, Reef, Rip Curl, Rook, Roxy, Rusty, Rvca, Sabre, Silver Star, Skin, Skin Industry, Skull Candy, So Cal, Split, Spy, Sugar and Rox, Sullen, Tank Farm, Tapout, Truth Soul Amor, Vans, Volcom, Von Zipper, Vurt, Warp and Weft, Wesc, Xtreme Couture, Yak Pak, and Zoo York.

A staple of any teenager's wardrobe, and let's face it, all wardrobes in general, is denim. Even Tim Gunn, a fashion industry icon, has labeled a good pair of jeans as one of the essential items of anyone's classic wardrobe. With the limitless options of jeans in the market today, there is a look, color, cut, length, rise, style, and leg opening to fit any personality. And jeans are one of those items of clothing that no one can really do without. Starting out as a ranch hand staple - pants that were tough enough to withstand the rigors of ranch life like horseback riding, roping steers, dust and dirt of the trails or drives - jeans have morphed from a specialty item to a cornerstone of the American wardrobe. A teenager can experience all of his or her life adventures in a pair of jeans from PacSun. The website has a "shop by look" function that helps people for jeans. For example, in the Girls Denim Shop, a girl could shop for leggings ("They make denim leggings?" you might ask.  Yes, they do - and PacSun's got them!), extreme skinny, super skinny, skinny boot cut, skinny flare, or boyfriend cuts. Guys can shop by look as well. Looking for that perfect wash? Choose among Light, Medium, Dark, Grey, Black, Colored, or Destructed.

Also catering to the teenage community is the Community Board section of the website. A quick click on this area of the site shows lots of options to keep a teenager busy and informed while remaining on the PacSun website. From here, customers can choose to surf many different sections of the site - sections such as style, sports, social, music, or tech. Under the style section, customers can look at postings describing the hottest trends in fashion, where to obtain those items, and how to pull off the latest looks of the season. They can get answers to pressing questions like "How do you choose the perfect pair of jeans?" "Are skinny jeans really the way to go?" "What are the pros and cons of scoop neck t-shirts?" "What are the pros and cons of v-neck t-shirts?" "What's Fox Denim?" "What did the hip and trendy wear to ComicCon this year?" "Can I get a PacSun Nixon watch?" "What kind of jeans does the bullheaded band The Plastiscines wear?" "How can I dress like Jaguar Love?" "What should I pack for the bitchin-est road trip ever?" "What should I pack to go to the beach?" "What should I pack to go camping?" "What should I pack for my international trip?" "What should I wear to the Nylon Summer Music Tour?" "What should I wear to a graduation party?" "My jeans are way too put together. Is there an easy to follow recipe for shredding them?" "Can I wear ruffles this summer?" "Is there a way to pull off multiple looks with the same dress?" "How can I pass summer school while looking cool?" "Is PacSun the place to look for Sabre Sunglasses?" "I've been seeing feathers all over the place.  Are they a new trend?" "What about marbleized shorts?" "What are the sandals of the summer?" "Earth Day is coming up and I want to make a statement. Can I find what I am looking for at PacSun?" There are answers to all of your questions at PacSun. Check it out.
