Is a low-salt diet really effective for the body?

We've always been told that too much salt is bad for you, but a new study is saying otherwise.
The research monitored 3,681 middle-aged Europeans and found that a low-salt diet actually increases the risk of death from cardiovascular disease and also doesn't prevent high blood pressure. This study was published in an issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association. Of course, saying that what we've always known to be a fact is actually not true has many criticizing the study.
"At the moment, this study might need to be taken with a grain of salt," Dr. Peter Briss, medical director at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said to the New York Times. He believes that the research has a few flaws and that the results could be skewed.
Besides being a small study, Dr. Briss explained that it's hard to draw conclusions when few cardiovascular events took place.
Whatever the final verdict may be, it always makes sense to take everything in moderation, especially when it comes to your diet. For your food needs, look for a WorldsFoods.com Promo Code, AlegroFoods.com Promotion Code or Doctor Grandma's Foods Coupon Code.
