DEAN & DELUCA in the News
Getting your kids to eat their fruits and veggies isn't always easy. Little ones are notorious for preferring chocolate, ice cream and candy over apples and broccoli, and who could blame them? Luckily, you don't have to force your kids to eat Brussels sprouts every meal - there are plenty of healthy options that are as delicious as they are nutritious. And they don't have to be expensive, either - not with a Dean & Deluca promotion code, anyway.
1. Apples and peanut butter. Apples are already a healthy sweet treat, but adding peanut butter really brings this snack over the top. If your kids don't like to eat the skin of the apple, a dab of peanut butter can help camouflage the slightly bitter taste. And don't worry about sugar or preservatives in the peanut butter - look for natural varieties that don't contain any additives, and you'll get all the protein benefits of this healthy legume without the high fructose corn syrup.
2. Carrots and Ranch dressing. Carrots are a kid-friendly favorite, so you probably don't have much trouble convincing your little ones to dig into a bag - but if you do, Ranch dressing could be the answer. Salty and flavorful, a little bit of a Ranch goes a long way towards making all kinds of raw veggies palatable. Even adults love it! Once you've gotten the kids to love their carrots, try adding in broccoli, celery and grape tomatoes.
