About Uber

Uber is the first major peer-to-peer transportation network and ridesharing/local mobility company. Members can request a car from any mobile phone using Uber's iPhone and Android apps and enjoy convenience and savings over using traditional cab service.

Uber Technologies is based in San Francisco and currently serves hundreds of cities across the globe. The company offers users multiple levels of service. Uber is a pioneer in self-driving car research and began testing in the Pittsburgh area in 2016 and later that year began using Volvo XC90's as self driving vehicles in the San Francisco area. After action by the California Department of Motor Vehicles, the company moved their self-driving operation to Arizona. The company is also experimenting with electric cars and has branched out into other innovative areas of service.
