3/25/09: It took me some time to figure out just how Swoopo really works. They make the rules clear and straightforward on their website. It boils down to this, each user participating in an auction pays per bid so that one person (the winner) can get a smoking deal. Ultimately, there is one successful bidder. Everyone else must come back to "play another day". Don't get me wrong, the "losers" are in for a whole lot of fun and the entertainment value alone is worth the price of admission.
